General Question
The Southern Time Band is the rock opera band for the Southern Time Tetralogy. The overture album of the rock opera, ‘Lost in Love No More,’ will be the band’s first commercial album. Another album will release along with the release of each film installment of the Tetralogy.
‘Lost in Love No More’ will be released at the end of June 2020, with a world tour of the album and the Southern Time Band following.
The Southern Time Tetralogy will be the ‘next-evolutionary step’ of Southern Time’s 2005 multi-media stage production. The medium of Southern Time’s music and story was always meant to be on the big screen, besides rock concerts and recorded albums. It tells the story of how I contracted HIV and what living with it has been like for me — the spiritual and social insights I became aware of because of having HIV.

STP is currently in the process of creating the Southern Time Foundation. Part of the proceeds STP makes from its music and film will go towards the STF. The STF will identify key underserved populations in the world and, with the help of local HIV organizations, find solutions to improving the mortality rate from AIDS in these areas, and then fund those initiatives. We will soon create the STF’s website, and you will be able to donate directly through there to help end AIDS. Although, once the ‘Lost in Love No More’ album releases in June 2020, when you buy the album, part of the money you purchased it with will go directly to the STF.
The first installment of the Southern Time Tetralogy will release at the end of 2021, with the remaining movies of the Tetralogy released throughout the 2020s. One of the goals of the Tetralogy and the Southern Time Band is to help meet the UNAIDS goal of ending AIDS by 2030.
Positively addressing HIV/AIDS is just a starting point for the societal purpose of our company and our band. There are so many intersecting issues around HIV/AIDS that it would be irresponsible not to address these issues as well. After the production of the Tetralogy, or perhaps even concurrently, Southern Time Productions will produce other artists and projects that raise awareness and call to action to different social, health and environmental concerns in our world.
‘Jazzy-classical musical theateresque art rock.’ Quite the menagerie of styles, in fact, a rather virulent strain of progressive art rock. The songs the band is currently readying to record for their first album ‘Lost in Love No More’ are what the STB will be mostly performing at events as a band for hire in Toronto and Canada. The STB can also play cover tunes at your event.
The minimum cost to hire the Southern Time Band for your event in Canada in 2020 is $1,299.99. If your event is outside of the GTA, it requires the band member’s presence beyond 3 hours, or if any additional lighting, video, theatrical, choreography, etc., we will be delighted to discuss how we can best accommodate your vision for your event.
